Who are we?
We’re an independent foreign exchange company based in Leeds, Yorkshire. We’ve been operating since 2006 and we’ve been authorised as a payments institution by the FCA since 2013.
We help businesses and individuals to move sums of money overseas for all sorts of reasons – paying suppliers, buying property, repatriating profits or transferring pensions.
We believe in three things:
- Honesty
- Fairness
- Transparency
Honesty
We don’t make false savings claims because, honestly, we don’t know how much your bank or other providers are charging you.
We don’t pretend there are “no transfer fees”. Of course there are transfer fees but, like most providers, we bake them into the FX rate.
And we don’t pretend to “exchange your money at the mid-market rate” and then charge you a fortune for the transfer.
Because none of that is honest.
Instead, we tell you what rate we can offer, and how long the transaction will take. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to deal with us.
Fairness
We don’t think it’s fair that different customers should pay different prices for the same service.
Smaller customers shouldn’t be subsidising larger ones.
That’s why we charge everyone exactly the same for the same size transaction.
Transparency
Our prices are completely transparent. We show our percentage markup (profit) against the live mid-market rate openly on our website currency converter.
That means you can always see how we’ve calculated your rate and you can compare it to any other provider in the marketplace.

And finally, a little word about our name...
“Eris was the Greek Goddess of disruption.
She played an important role in the events that eventually led to the Trojan War. All of the Olympians had been invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, who would become the parents of Achilles; however, Eris was not invited, due to her inclination to cause discord.
As a means of revenge, Eris dropped the golden Apple of Discord into the party, which had the words To The Fairest One inscribed on it. Hera, Athena and Aphrodite started quarrelling over who the apple should be given to, so Zeus appointed Paris, Prince of Troy, as the person to solve the dispute.
The goddesses offered Paris various gifts, but he eventually picked Aphrodite, who promised him the most beautiful woman in the world; Helen, wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta.” Eris- Greek Mythology
